When is it OK to return to Avita Yoga® after surgery?

Practice Avita Yoga with your doctor’s approval and after completing any recommended physical therapy. We’ll work to refine the movement and pick up where PT leaves off. We’ll unwind compensatory patterns that may have contributed to the surgical need in the first place. Bring any questions or concerns to Jeff in a private session, and he’ll find a helpful protocol for you to follow.

We’ll often target the stiffness and disorganization brought on by the surgery. It’s normal to work through some awkward discomfort following surgery. As always, practice sustainably with mild to moderate pressure. Over time, there is a cumulative effect when we practice three to four times per week.

Please remember that Avita Yoga can delay or even postpone your surgery if you catch it soon enough. It can also help you prepare for surgery.
